    “There will be a revolution if they do not listen to us. I am now sounding the alarm before it is too late. At the centre of the argument is the way the Heineken Cup is run – or more specifically who runs it. Currently it’s administered by European Rugby Cup Ltd with each of the six competing countries providing two representatives to the ERC board. But there are moves afoot by the powerful French and English clubs to have a far greater say in the organisation of the event after 2007 when the existing Paris Accord agreement expires. It’s also been reported that Blanco’s French brigade want the Celtic contingent reduced so that only six teams from Wales Ireland and Scotland can qualify for the Heineken Cup directly – rather than the current nine. This is understandably going down like a lead balloon with the Celtic nations with the Welsh vowing to fight it “tooth and nail”.
