" Ryan whose side’s interest in this season’s Heineken Cup was ended by two defeats by the Blues added: "They got a good result against Toulouse [in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals] at the weekend and that says it all. "They’ve got key guys like Andy Powell and Xavier Rush operating from the bench and Jamie Roberts who made a big name for himself at the year’s Six Nations. " The Blues beat Toulouse in a Heineken Cup quarter-final last week but there has not been a trophy at the Arms Park since Cardiff RFC won the old Welsh-Scottish League in 2000. Head coach Dai Young said his side’s winning edge is "starting to grow". "They are used to playing in big games on the big stage and grinding out victories" said Young. "It doesn’t happen overnight but a lot of these players are coming of age. "Although we have beaten [Gloucester] twice this season we would be foolish to underestimate them.

Understandably the mood in the Capital dressing room is one of atonement ? as voiced by vice captain Ally Hogg pictured. “We owe Leinster one” he said. “The away match in the Heineken Cup (3-12) was okay but in the other games we were poor. “verall the teams have met 11 times in the league with Edinburgh winning six so there is no need to feel inferior even against the defending champions. Again Hogg is bullish insisting: “The key will lie in stopping Leinster getting forward because then they could use a lot of dangerous runners. Getting them on the back foot will give us our best chance. ” While Edinburgh are on much more familiar lines Leinster will rest a string of front-liners after qualifying for the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup.

Including family packages Leinster have 9500 season ticket-holders. Leinster are keen to avoid a repeat scenario of the 2006 semi-final defeat to Munster at Lansdowne Road when many of their allocation ended up in opposition hands a point proven by the sea of red evident in the supposedly Leinster-occupied north terrace. “Ticketmaster as instructed by Leinster Rugby removed the sale of Heineken Cup semi-final tickets on Tuesday afternoon due to the fact that 266 applicants misused their access codes and exceeded the limit” read a Leinster Branch statement. “As a result of this order duplication Ticketmaster has cancelled all of the tickets purchased by these 266 applicants. “Ticketmaster will now reissue codes to the remaining Leinster season ticket-holders who do not have a ticket. “This will enable all Leinster season ticket-holders who have not yet purchased tickets an opportunity to attend the game.
